Take a chance and share your profile with the recruiter.
If your experience does not match the requirements of an advertised vacancy but you are convinced that your experience matches the company’s research, then go ahead and share your profile with the recruiter. Please explain in the covering note that you understand that your expertise doesn’t match the current job description, but you are keen on exploring an opportunity with the company. Do also mention in which area and how you would contribute towards the group’s objectives.
Most recruiters who are associated with a company build talent pipelines for future vacancies. These could be in certain areas that have frequent vacancies or in a niche segment where there is a dearth of talent. It would, therefore, serve the candidate well to have their profile with the recruiter and stay connected with them.
LinkedIn could be a good platform to stay connected with the recruiter!
